Michael Quinane - was born on the 9th January 1857 at Drysdale in Victoria. On 11th May 1885 he married Anne Cecilla Murray in Geelong. Michael was appointed as a Policeman on 29 June 1983. His police service records discloses that he was 5'81/4" tall, weighed 10stone 3 lbs, had grey eyes, dark hair and dark complexion and was a Labourer. He served in the following places:

While posted to Euroa, Michael's first son Daniel was born, however, tragically both his son and wife, Anne died shortly after the birth and are buried in the Euroa cemetery.

On 8 July 1891, Michael married Catherine Hickey at Sandford, they had four children:
Michael's police service record also shows that he was in hospital from 16th November 1901 until his death of "Phthisic Asthenia" on 15th May 1902 at Barooga. Michael is buried in the Cobram Cemetery.

Following his death, Michael's second wife, Catherine married Neil Malcolm Todd on 21st March 1904 at St Peter's COE Ballarat. Catherine Todd died at Hamilton in 1929.
Mary Ellen - born 1892 at Sandford, married Robert James Oswald in February 1924 at Hamilton. They had four children Kevin James (born 3/9/1925), Desmond Francis (born 22/7/1928), Brian Peter (born 15/11/1929) and Francis Patrick (born 8/1/1934).
Catherine Hannah (known as Queenie) - born 1894 at Strathdownie. Catherine died on 1 January 1899 at Casterton at the age of 4 and is buried in the Casterton Cemetery - refer http://members.datafast.net.au/marrtronics/CASTERTP.HTM
John Joseph - born 1897 at Casterton, married Bridget Agnes Moore and had three children, Gerald Michael (born 15/6/1927),Mary Catherine (born 23/5/1930) and Veronica Margaret (born 16/9/1933).
Elizabeth Margaret - born at Casterton in 1898, married Henry William Reilley in 1937 and died on 6th May 1977. It is not known if Elizabeth had any children.
